Ingredients:
- 530g cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 90g of Cocoa Powder
- 2 ½ teaspoons of Baking Powder
- 1g of Baking Soda
- 450g of Salted Butter at room temperature
- 690g of Sugar
- 8 Eggs at room temperature
- 240 ml of Whole Milk
- 1 teaspoon of Orange Zest (optional)
Instructions
Initial Preparation: Start by sifting the flour and baking powder together. Set this mixture aside for later use.
Preparing the Batter:
- In a mixer, combine the sugar and butter. Beat these two ingredients at medium speed until a white cream forms.
- Add the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated into the mixture before adding the next.
- After all the eggs are added, include the milk.
- Finally, add the flour and baking powder mixture. Combine all the dry ingredients at once and mix until well incorporated into the batter.
Dividing the Batter:
- Evenly divide the prepared batter between two cake pans, ensuring equal quantities for even baking.
Baking the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Use the toothpick test to check for doneness: insert a toothpick in the center, which should come out clean.
Unmolding the Cake:
- After baking, let the cakes cool on a rack for 10 minutes before unmolding.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely before applying any filling, ensuring the filling doesn’t melt or get absorbed unevenly.
