If you’re a fan of desserts that balance bitter and sweet while adding a crunchy twist, this Dark Chocolate Bar with Caramel and Pecan Nuts is made for you. The dark chocolate base perfectly contrasts with the rich, buttery sweetness of the caramel, creating a burst of flavors and textures in every bite. The pecans bring an extra crunch and natural lightness, elevating the complexity of this treat. Try it out and let yourself be won over by this delightful combination!
Ingredients:
- 225g butter (I used unsalted)
- 225g sugar
- 225g water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions for the Cereal Bars:
- Mix all the ingredients except for the vanilla in a saucepan. Stir constantly over medium heat until the mixture reaches 146°C/295°F.
- Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir and quickly spread the mixture onto a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- Allow it to cool completely, then pat with paper towels to remove any excess oil from the top of the caramel.
- Melt the dark chocolate (or your preferred type) and temper it.
- Cover the entire caramel with the chocolate and sprinkle your preferred nuts on top.
- Place in the freezer for no more than 10 minutes.
- Turn it over and repeat the process on the other side.
