Grandma’s Secret Brazilian Cookies

My Brazilian grandma’s cookies contain more than ingredients mixed together in a recipe; they are an emblem of shared moments, full of affection and memories that stand the test of time. I’m so happy to share this recipe with you today. How about we roll up our sleeves and get baking together?

Ingredients:

  • 500g of tapioca flour
  • 1 cup of white sugar (I used 200g of demerara sugar)
  • 200g of salted butter
  • 2 eggs

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix everything with a wooden spoon or spatula. Then, knead by hand, pressing until you can form a ball.
  2. Shape as desired; I showed how to make little balls pressed with a fork in the video.
  3. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased with butter.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for approximately 12-15 minutes until the bottom of the cookies is lightly golden.
Tip: You can also use coconut butter (oil).

To me, these cookies are more than just a sweet treat. They remind me of the love, lessons, and memories I hold dear. Every time I make them, I reflect that happiness is found in the moments we share, the small acts of kindness we show to those we love and the memories we create together.

From my kitchen to yours,

Ana Raquel.
